Our past few weeks (Preston 9 weeks-now 12 weeks)

Well, the past three weeks have been so eventful. My brother came to visit on March 22 from Meridian, Idaho. My mom also came to visit on the 23rd. March 24 we left for Milton-Freewater so Preston could meet his great grandparents Fran and Ivan and to see everyone in Milton as well. Preston is such a wonderful traveler. It took us about 9 hours to make it there with some stops to feed Preston and it wasn't until we were about 30 minutes away when Preston decided he wanted to get out of his carseat and even then he was still so good. We stayed there for a week and 1 day which was so much fun! Carl's mom and brother with his family came to visit us in Milton as well. Carl got some golf in (even managing to play in a tournament and we had a great time visiting with Fran and Ivan, Doug, Rain and Jade. Rain loved being able to come each day and hold Preston. We were able to see so many friends in Milton too, and many of which also have children. It was great to see how big they are getting Toward the end of our trip in Milton Preston started to get a fever. On April 1, we left for Portland so Carl could go to his annual Dental Conference and we stayed with my grandparents in Sherwood. Preston remained sick with a high fever. Eventually I took him into the Children's Clinic and since his white blood cell count was high, they drew blood from his arm and tried to get a urine sample. He didn't not like having his blood drawn! We waited for quite a while for the urine sample and when he went, the bag had come loose and it leeked. Luckily they let us go even without collecting it after giving him an injection of antibotics (and he had one the next day as well). All in all, I think we ended up spending about 5 hours in the children's clinic (thank you to my grandma who came with me). I will not miss that! Preston is all better now but unfortunely we didn't get to see many people in Portland since he was so sick. We will have to make it up there again soon. We did manage to have dinner with Carl's silbing and families our last night in Portland and also my cousin Amy came over to see Preston. We also went to our friend the Forbes house for a short while since Preston started feeling better. Now we are back and Dallas was quite happy to see us. My sister Mandy is happy we are home (mostly to see Preston again ... I think).
Here are the pictures.... Preston is getting so big and holding himself up well in sitting and standing positions. Also, during the course of the past few weeks Preston has become a lot more talkative. It's so much fun to hear all the noises he can make. He discovered that he can yell as well!
